Hi, I’m Stephanie, the heart behind Original Mami. As a registered nurse (RN) and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), I bring over a decade of experience in breastfeeding support and maternal health.

My journey to lactation consulting began with my own breastfeeding experiences. In 2003, I became the first in my immediate family and friend group to breastfeed, unknowingly inspiring others in my circle to do the same. I knew early on that I wanted to help others navigate the challenges of breastfeeding.

When I became a mom, my own journey wasn’t without its hurdles. I faced struggles with engorgement and eventually found incredible support from an IBCLC who guided me through the process. With her help, I successfully nursed my first son for 15 months. Inspired by my experiences, I pursued my dream of becoming a nurse and later specialized in lactation consulting, earning my IBCLC certification.

Over the years, I worked in various hospital settings—medical-surgical, postpartum, and neonatal units—before transitioning to community-based lactation care. This unique combination of hospital experience and community knowledge has shaped the way I approach breastfeeding support. I am proud to offer services that integrate evidence-based techniques and compassionate, hands-on support.

In 2021, I founded Original Mami Lactation and Durable Medical Equipment. This allowed me to expand my services to include hospital-grade pumps, in-home jaundice phototherapy, and breastfeeding consultations. I’ve made it my mission to provide families with the best tools and support to ensure successful breastfeeding experiences.

When I’m not working with families, you can find me enjoying yoga, swimming, or crafting with my three children. I am committed to ongoing education and always strive to expand my knowledge to better serve the families I support.

Our passionate virtual assistant dedicated to supporting families. After a rewarding career as an X-ray technician, she chose to prioritize her family and joined Original Mami in 2023. Kait thrives in creating efficient systems, managing client communications, and ensuring our social media and website are engaging and up-to-date.

With a love for working with families, she brings a warm and caring approach to everything she does. In her free time, Kait enjoys reading, soaking up the sun at the beach, and making cherished memories with her family. Her commitment and enthusiasm make her a valuable asset to our team!
